Mixed fibre wigs offer a blend of Human Hair & Heat Friendly Synthetic Fibres.

A mixed fibre wig is a unique blend of Human Hair and Heat Friendly Synthetic Fibres, offering the best of both types of wig.

Human Hair benefits include a natural texture, cool and lightweight and versatility of style. Heat Friendly Synthetic benefits include style memory, non-reactant to environmental elements such as humidity, and thinner denier for a natural feel and appearance.

Style memory is a built-in feature with Heat Friendly Synthetic Fibres. This means that once the fibre is styled with a heating tool the new style will remain intact until heat is applied again. Water will not remove the style so your curls and waves will last through washes. Re-styling should be done to a minimum.

What % human hair / % heat friendly is in a mix-fibre wig?

Each individual company has their own % of human hair mix, generally they are made up of 60/40 or 70/30.  60% Heat Friendly Synthetic Fibre and 40% Human Hair. Some of the grey colours may have a higher % of Heat Friendly Synthetic fibres.

Depending on lifestyle, frequency of wear, and care maintenance, blends will typically last between 8 - 12 months. Using the correct specialised hair care products will help prolong the longevity of the hair.

Maintenance & Care of your Mixed-Fibre Human Hair & Heat Friendly synthetic Wig.

To keep your hair beautiful for a long time; it is extremely important to properly care for your mixed fibre, human hair and Heat-Friendly Synthetic Wig.  In order to ensure that you have your wig for as long as possible, please follow our ‘’instructions for use and care’’ regarding handling and care.

How long should a Mix Fibre (Human hair/heat friendly synthetic fibre) last?

Human hair blended with synthetic fibres lasts between 6 - 10 months of daily wear.

Before you commence cleansing your wig we would like to remind you that you should only use products recommended by us, otherwise the human and synthetic blend hair could dry out losing its elasticity and condition.

  • Do not wash it too often.

In case of daily use : every 2 - 4 weeks

In case of occasional use: Only wash it when you find it necessary

How often you should be washing your wigs depends on how frequently you wear them. If you wear a wig daily, washing it twice a month is sufficient to ensure hair remains bouncy and fresh-looking for as long as possible. But if you only wear a wig once in a while, a once-a-month wash will suffice. Never wash wigs more than twice in any given month, or you can risk damaging the unit and shortening its lifespan. Treat it as if it is your natural hair, washing too frequently will cause damage, it will also make the hairs become dry and brittle.

  • First, comb your wig using a wide- toothed comb. With extreme care, comb piece by piece from the ends of the hair to the root (cap), avoiding pulling the knots on the cap and the hair.

  • The water temperature must only be cold to tepid (NEVER HOT). Using a tap only (not shower head),

Holding the wig in your hands, gently wet the hair with cool water. DO NOT SOAK; soaking might cause the hair to tangle.

Holding the wig in your hands, place your wig underneath the (slow) flow of water. DO NOT SOAK; soaking might cause the hair to tangle. Make sure the cap and the hair gets completely soaked. Using professional mix fibre hair shampoo, lather up a small amount of shampoo with your hands and gentle stroke / massage (no circular movements) into the inside of the cap. Paying extra attention to the lace front.

Leave your wig to the side for 2-3 minutes on a towel.

  • Rinse out the shampoo thoroughly with cold to tepid water from roots (cap) to the tips of the hair, making sure that there is no residue left inside the cap and hair. Please do not make any circular movements here either. Do not twist or wring out your wig.

  • Work in an approximately hazelnut-sized amount of a professional mix fibre hair care conditioner in lengths and tips. Gently run your hands through the hair to distribute the conditioner evenly. Never apply conditioner directly to the scalp area. If your cap construction has any lace part, you need to be extra careful and gentle in order not to damage or stretch it. Leave the conditioner in for a few minutes.

PRO TIPS: To get more volume, use less conditioner. If your wig needs more moisture or care, you can also apply a little more conditioner.

  • Rinse the hair again thoroughly by running cold to tepid water from the roots to the tip until you are sure that there is no conditioner residue left. Please do not make any circular movements here either. Once rinsed thoroughly, gently squeeze out the water from the hair with your hand (never the cap) from the roots to the tips.

  • Turn back your wig from being inside out. Gently wrap your wig in a towel and gently squeeze out the excess water from the roots to the tips (do not rub!). Gently comb the hair with a wide toothed comb. Pull the parting where you want it, taking extreme care with the lace front.

Place your wig, cap side down, on to an open wig stand. An open stand will provide quicker drying time. It is best to let your wig dry naturally overnight. The synthetic fibre allows the hair to revert back to the style. No drying or styling required!

The human hair portion allows it to be cut or heat styled, and the synthetic part holds the style through washing. These wigs are great for those who want the best of both worlds

PRO TIPS: Never place your wet wig on a solid mannequin head (especially if it is the incorrect head size for your wig) this causes the wig cap to stretch.

  • I recommend that you bring in your wig if you want to change the style. Problems will occur with the missus of heated appliances e.g. singe-ing or melting the synthetic part of the hair.

  • Always store your wig on an open head stand or mannequin head or in a silk bag. Never leave it sitting in direct sunlight.
